Cut Resistant Gloves
A complete range cut resistant gloves and cut resistant sleeves that will give you added protection against cuts, abrasions and tears. Our cut resistant gloves cover the EN 388:2003 standard offering a simple numbering system to measure the levels of protection. The method for testing is carried out using a circular blade which moves back and forth across the surface of the glove testing the force required for the blade to slice through the fabric, this test is commonly referred to as the coup test, they are then given a blade cut resistance rating from one to five with level 5 gloves being the highest rating. Following the revamp of the EN 388 standard in 2016 a straight blade test was introduced and the standard changed to EN 388:2016 to provide a more accurate indication of cut protection against an actual cut. Comparing the coup test and straight blade test is like comparing a pizza cutter and a Stanley knife, both are effective for the task they are designed for but there is a significant difference in the type of cut they will administer. The method for testing to the new standard is carried out using a sharp straight blade which moves back and forth testing the force required for a blade to slice through the glove, they are then given a straight blade cut resistance rating level from A-F with level F gloves being the highest rating. All our cut resistant gloves are tested under mechanical hazards EN388 to ensure quality of product, if you would like any further help in selecting the right product for you please contact our expect team that will be happy to help.
